Mary as a Mother

As children we didn't really appreciate Mum's singing talent. In fact we
found it highly embarrassing when she would sing in church gatherings
louder than the rest of the congregation put together!

She had other amazing talents that we did appreciate though. Her cooking
was superb, especially her Sunday Lunches. Her baking was also
delicious, we loved her apple pies, mince pies and gluten free
biscuits! In fact we were often reprimanded for stealing them!

Mary was a natural home maker. She was very house proud and worked
tirelessly to create a fantastic home and garden for us.

Our childhood was never dull, Mary would often take us walking and
picnicking. There was always a great family holiday to look forward
to. She loved to take us via Wrexham to see her relatives, with the
added bonus of fish and chips in her sisters chip shop.

Mary loved to travel and we take comfort in the fact that she has seen a
lot of the world including places like Egypt, America, Canada and
lots of European Cities.

In her later years she took up singing again and joined a choir in
Bolton, taking part in various concerts and she even toured Europe
with them.

She was quite a sports fanatic. Wrexham football club were her first love, but she became an avid Bolton Wanderers fan, she even travelled to Wembley to watch them play. She loved tennis and enjoyed a trip to Wimbledon one year. And for her 70th birthday we took her to watch the athletics in the commonwealth games that were held in Manchester.

Mary was the heart and soul of our family, we will miss her deeply but we
are thankful for all the memories that we have.
